Hipster Dogs runs small, compatible group dog walks across West Auckland. Your dog joins a matched pack for a supervised two-hour adventure in Oratia, with door-to-door pick up and drop off included. Groups are matched by temperament and energy, so every walk stays calm, safe and fun.
New dogs are introduced carefully and grouped by temperament and energy level, not just by who is available on the day. Groups stay small so every dog gets real attention from the handler.
Each outing runs about two hours across 40 acres of fields, native bush and streams in Oratia. On-lead and off-lead time is matched to your dog, with water, treats and plenty of praise along the way.
Every dog gets a wash and towel dry before we drop them back at your door, tired and happy. You will hear how the walk went and notice anything we think you should know.
A well-matched group gives your dog the best parts of pack life: calm greetings, shared exploration and settled time with other dogs. Large, mismatched packs do the opposite, which is why we are fussy about who walks together and how new dogs are introduced.
Training background matters in groups. Janet and Ethan are certified through Rhonda Bilodeau’s My Dog Camp programme, grounded in Mark McCabe’s TBTE (Training Between the Ears) system, a behaviour-modification approach that builds calm, confident, well-socialised dogs. Hipster Dogs is insured and certified, including animal first aid training.

Groups are kept small and matched by temperament and energy rather than by availability alone. We discuss the make-up of your dog’s group with you at the free meet and greet, and we are always happy to answer questions about how many dogs go out per handler.
On-lead and off-lead time is matched to your individual dog. Off lead time happens where council rules allow it, and recall is practised throughout the walk using the TBTE-grounded handling our team is certified in.
We pick up across Central West Auckland, including Oratia, Titirangi, Green Bay, Laingholm, Waima, Woodlands Park, Glen Eden and New Lynn, with Sunnyvale, Henderson Valley and Henderson also on our service-area list.
The Adventure Excursion is $50 per dog for about two hours with pick up and drop off included. Two dogs from the same household can join Twice the Love for $55 plus $20 per sibling. The 30-minute in-home meet and greet is free.
Every new dog starts with a free 30-minute meet and greet in your home, so we can meet your dog and design the right group for them. Tell us your suburb and a little about your dog through the contact form.
